Rudiantara was considered to have a background in managing the state-owned electricity company

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, revealed that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi had appointed Rudiantara as Managing Director of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara or PLN.

"So I think the President has appointed Mr. Rudi a very correct decision. And I think PLN will be better," said Coordinating Minister Luhut in Jakarta, Monday, December 9, 2019.

Luhut said, Rudiantara was known to be very good and was seen when he together became a minister in the Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla working cabinet. In addition, Rudiantara also has a background in managing the state-owned electricity company.

"Very good, Mr. Rudi. Indeed, he is a PLN person. While he was in the same cabinet he was also good," he said.

Previously, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises or BUMN Erick Thohir said that he was in the process of reforming the PLN board of directors. In the process, he said, there were several names that would fill the new state-owned company boss's new seat.

Erick explained that his party had proposed three names as President Director of PLN to President Jokowi.  One of them is Sripeni Inten Cahyani, who serves as the Managing Director of PLN. "Finally, after review, a large figure is needed," Erick Thohir told Tempo at the Ministry of BUMN, Jakarta, Saturday, December 8, 2019.

Not only a matter of filling the top leadership, Erick Thohir is also still considering overhauling the board of directors and commissioners of the country's stun company.  Especially because PLN has to change the direction of its business.
