A woman or an independent mother does not mean that she can do everything without caring about her husband's opinion

In commemoration of the 91st Mother's Day, the Government of Aceh held a Star Talk with the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati or Bintang Puspayoga at the Amel Convention Hall on Thursday.

When talking with housewives, Bintang Yoga hopes that women can prepare themselves to build businesses to help the family economy.

According to her, one of the priority programs of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, which was accompanied by the National Capital Madani (PNM) Mekaar is empowering women in the field of entrepreneurship.

"Hopefully in the future there will be economic heroes of the family from among women. So, housewives not only accompany their husbands, educate children but also be able to support the family economy," she said.

Even so, a woman or an independent mother does not mean that she can do everything without caring about her husband's opinion.

Bintang Puspayoga said the husband's participation in household management matters was also very important.

Economic factors, he continued, can reduce the emergence of violence against women.

"That's what we expect, I'm sure what we hope for the future is not only empowering women but how to reduce the number of violence against women and children, in addition to the socialization that we do to suppress the number of cases," she said.
