Defendant of the case of bribery distribution for Bowo fertilizer Sidik Pangarso questioned the attitude of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He said, the interfaith agency failed to present former Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita in the trial of his case.
In fact, Bowo admitted that he had received as much as 200 thousand Singapore dollars from Enggartiasto.
"The facts of the trial were not used, was I said wrong. The person who proved not to be summoned at all was then sentenced," he said after hearing the verdict in the Corruption Court, Jakarta on Wednesday (12/4).
Bowo said that he had revealed all the flow of funds he received during the trial, including disclosing the names that gave him money. So, he felt the sentence handed down was unfair.
"I was sentenced with no evidence, with no witnesses, is this the name of justice? The person (Enggartiasto) could not be presented at the trial, the evidence was nothing but I was convicted," said the former DPR member from Golkar.
In this case the KPK actually called Enggartiasto Lukita three times. The first call was made on July 2, 2019. However, he was not present on the grounds of being abroad.
Enggar was called again on July 8, 2019 and again did not attend on the grounds of carrying out other duties. On the third call, July 18, 2019, Enggar was absent again.
As is known, Bowo was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of IDR 250 million in a four-month confinement.
"Stating the accused Bowo Sidik Pangarso has been proven legally and convincingly according to law guilty of committing corruption together and continues as the first and second indictments," the Chief Judge, Yanto, told the Jakarta Corruption Court on Wednesday, (4/12).
The panel of judges revoked Bowo's political rights for a certain period of time. "Dropping additional crimes in the form of revocation of political rights to be elected in public office for 4 years counts as long as the defendant has finished serving his main crime," said Yanto.
In this case, the KPK thought Bowo received a bribe of IDR 1.2 billion from the marketing staff of PT Humpuss Transportation Kimia Asty Winasti. Bribes were allegedly given so that the member of the Golkar faction of the DPR RI helped Humpuss get cooperation in the transportation of fertilizer owned by PT Pupuk Indonesia Logistics. In addition, Bowo Sidik Pangarso also allegedly received gratuities worth IDR 6.5 billion from other sources.
