Bamsoet argued that he put forward the interests of Golkar so that the party remained solid and advanced

Golkar Party's candidate for chairman (caketum), Bambang Soesatyo, has officially declared his resignation from being Golkar Party Chairperson. The decision was made after meeting the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

"I hereby resign from the Golkar ketum nomination," Bambang said at the Maritime Coordinating Ministry's office, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/12).

Bamsoet, Bambang Soesatyo's familiar greeting, reasoned that he would resign from the nomination after being considered by the seniors. Moreover, Bambang said, the current political economy situation needs stability.

"This is the way we solve problems. When seniors give opinions. We are young, obedient. We obey Mr. Ical, Mr. Agung, Mr. Akbar and Mr. Luhut," he said.

According to him, now the most important thing is to maintain the unity of Golkar. Therefore, Bamsoet argued that he put forward the interests of Golkar so that the party remained solid and advanced.

"To maintain unity and listen to senior advice. I cannot fight. It is in the interest of Golkar to be solid and forward," Bamsoet said.

Bamsoet appealed to his supporters to be able to close ranks and no more camps. He said, for supporters back to the unity of Golkar.

"I appeal to my supporters who have been working hard to re-knit existing Golkar party cadres except for only one Golkar party," Bambang said.

Ahead of the Golkar National Conference which will be opened tonight, Bamsoet and Airlangga Hartarto were seen coming to the Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan office.  Airlangga first came to Luhut's office after the meeting at the State Palace. A little later, Luhut came. Both cars came in tandem.

Both of them entered Luhut's room at 15.30 WIB.  Five minutes later, Bambang Soesatyo also came to the Luhut Office. Not yet known for sure what became the discussion of the three of them. However, the three of them compactly entered Luhut's office without a word.
