President Jokowi gave a deadline until early December 2019 for the National Police Chief to uncover the Novel Baswedan case

Palace Spokesperson Fadjroel Rachman said that he was not aware of the latest reports related to the case of hard water spraying against investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan. The report will be billed to the National Police Chief General Idham Azis because it has entered the specified deadline.

"We will first check with Mr. Idham Azis. Because it will be handed over to Mr. Idham," he said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (12/02/2019).

During a dialogue with the media crew at the Merdeka Palace at the beginning of last month, President Jokowi said he gave a deadline until early December 2019 for the National Police Chief to uncover the case. "I have conveyed it to the new National Police Chief, I will give until the beginning of December," he said November 1, 2019.

Likewise with the KPK Employee Containers who have already collected the case. "Today is the first week of December 2019 according to the deadline given by President Jokowi to the National Police Chief so that this case has been resolved in early December 2019," said Chairman of the KPK WP Yudi Purnomo in a written statement.

This case began when two unidentified men poured hard water on Novel on April 11, 2017. When the KPK investigator returned at dawn prayers in congregation at a mosque near his home in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. The attack was allegedly related to Novel's work on high profile corruption cases at the KPK.

The hard water hit Novel's eye, causing 95 percent damage in his left eye and making his right eye have to use a hard lens to aid vision.
