President Joko Widodo made sure to collect the progress of the report on the case of hard water sprinkling to the senior investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Novel Baswedan, to the new National Police Chief.
"I think it will be pursued by the new National Police Chief so that it is completed," Jokowi said in Jakarta on Thursday (10/24).
However, Jokowi claimed to have received a report from the technical team regarding the investigation of the Baswedan Novel case. The report was received before inaugurating Tito Karnavian as Minister of the Interior.
"I saw yesterday's report that before I was appointed Minister of Domestic Affairs, Mr. Tito. I think there has been very good development," Jokowi said.
Jokowi said that the results of the technical team's report would be forwarded to the new Indonesian Police Chief. He also said that the results of the investigation would be announced if it had already been completed. "This is not an easy case," he said.
The KPK is still waiting for the results of the investigation by the Police technical team on the Baswedan Novel case. Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters Commissioner General Idham Azis ensured his team had reported the progress of investigating the Novel case to Jokowi.
The technical team was formed by the National Police on the recommendation of the fact finding team, also formed by the police. The technical team was given 6 months to find the perpetrators of the Novel case. However, Jokowi cut the deadline to three months until the end of October 2019.
